RACE HORSE YEARS Click on thumbnail pictures to view larger sized pictures. Catalog info on our first race horse. Velocitation's sire Crocation. Velocitation's grandsire Strong Ruler on the dam's side. Velocitation on a morning gallop at Longacres Race Track. Results from Velocitation's first race. Rats, it was a close one. See the Picture below. If only the race had been 10 feet shorter. Finaly, the win we'd been waiting for. I think she won by 10 lengths. At least there was no one in sight. Here she is taking life easy as a broodmare. This was the first win for me with my name down as the trainer of record. This was "Abe" our family owned horse. Abe always thought he was out there to play with the other horses. He won this race on April Fools' Day. I had told him I'd let him bred our pony horse if he won the race. He won pulling away from the field like a horse with a plan. I never let him breed the mare and he never won another race for us. My dad blamed me for his losing streak. If I had only let him bred that mare we could have made a fortune with him. The last time I heard about Abe he was a 4-H hunter/jumper that was make one little girl very happy kid.
