MOE VVH
Beamer is a 4 year old (May 8th, 2000) Halflinger, who stands 14 hands, and weighs about 900 pounds. Beamer was gelded as a yearling. He had one month professional ground training (tying, leading, ground driving, bathing, saddling and bridling). He's had a good experiences being trail ridden. He's easy going and just goes along and gets down to business of going down the trail. His idea of shying is to stop and then take a good long look and to go towards what has caught his attention. He has 60 days professional riding training and 90 days of driving training. Beamer was hitches last October. He's done very well here on our property and road. He'd need a little tune-up but with our new cart, that can be handled very well. He has sturdy legs and great feet. Beamer loves attention and is very kind to other animals, children, and adults. He has a great sense of humor and has been known to play a trick or two on folks. His one main irritating behavior is that he will push his way through barriers (non-electric fences and wobbly fences). He only seems to do this when he really wants company and heads directly to the next available horse pasture, or person. He does respect hot wire. He loads pretty well most of the time. Sometimes you need to use a long line through the window and tap him on the behind and he'll go right in. He trailer pretty quietly and comes out gently. He great for trims, but likes to lean when being shod, but I think with time he'll get better. Beamer has been clipped and stands fairly well, except when doing his muzzle. Then he just wants to eat the clippers. Speaking of which, he loves to eat and is a very easy keeper. Beamer has a lot of curly hair in the winter. This includes his mane, tail, and feathers (he's very cute). To recap what Beamer can do. He can drive, he rides well (not great on canter yet, but he hasn't been asked to do that a lot), he's great on trails. I've seen him jump a 3 foot fence in very good form. He's in that time of his life where he needs to be put to a task--he will do whatever is asked as long as he understands what you want. We're asking $5,000 for this lovely gelding.
